"Allow a full day"

If you want to see everything make sure to plan a whole day to visit Blenheim Palace (or even more!) We didn't see as much of the gardens as we'd have liked to because we ran out of time!

Christine

Christine says

"Check the weather"

We ended up visiting on a rainy day and we didn't get to do as much exploring as we wanted to. We thought the interior of the palace felt limited compared to the gardens.

What to expect at Blenheim Palace

Ever wondered what life must be like in the lap of gold-plated luxury?

Get yourself down to Blenheim Palace, located in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, for a snoop round the Duke of Marlborough’s 18th century mega-pad.

Spoiler alert: it really is stunning. The Great Hall isn’t just bloomin’ massive (100ft long, 50ft high and 50ft wide) – it’s also decorated with marble columns, crystal chandeliers and fancy tapestries. If you think they’re fancy, head to the gilded State Rooms. They’ll blow your mind.

The Blenheim Palace Museum has cool sculptures, paintings and artifacts that tell the story of the Churchill family (yup, Winston was born here). And the gorgeous gardens were designed by Capability Brown (the 18th century’s answer to Alan Titchmarsh).

Adventure Play is the brand-new play area which is just as impressive as the Palace – if not more, depending on who you’re asking. It’s a hidden world with slides, zip lines, steppingstones – you name it – plus a water play area.
